Bluetooth measurements in the RPM app
Bluetooth is optional. The iOS simulator can run the application and its synthetic demo, but discovering or pairing a device requires a physical phone with Bluetooth permission granted.
The example configures the native SDK for two device declarations:
| Device declaration | Example use |
|---|---|
IntegratedDevices.BP2 | ECG waveform and duration; a result may also include heart rate. |
IntegratedDevices.F4 | Body weight in kilograms. |
Use the exact model and the instructions in the supported-device catalog. The app does not interpret a waveform or infer clinical status from a reading.
Result path
The app creates a Bluetooth manager for the authenticated physical-device workspace, mounts BTProvider with the accepted-device list, and handles normalized result events. It converts supported result types into app diary entries, then hands them to local persistence and the FHIR save flow. See FHIR persistence and local data and sync.
Explore the source: bluetooth.tsx defines the SDK provider, allowed devices, and result handling; device-readings.ts keeps received readings available for a local save retry; app.config.ts declares native Bluetooth configuration.
