# Video calls

`ovok.video_calls` runs LiveKit video calls: it schedules call appointments, grants room access to
users and guests, and emails invitations and changes.

## Schedule a call [#schedule-a-call]

```python
from ovok_sdk import Ovok

ovok = Ovok("https://api.sandbox.ovok.com", "your-tenant")
appointment = ovok.video_calls.appointments.create({"start": "2026-11-02T09:00:00Z"})
upcoming = ovok.video_calls.appointments.list({"date": "2026-11-02"})
```

## Join a call [#join-a-call]

Check the signed-in user's permission, then create their access. Guests without an account get
their own access.

permission = ovok.video_calls.access.permission("appointment-id")
access = ovok.video_calls.access.create_user("appointment-id")
guest = ovok.video_calls.access.create_guest("appointment-id", {"name": "Relative"})
```

## Notify participants [#notify-participants]

`emails` sends invitation, change and cancellation emails. `notify_active()` tells participants
that the call has started.

ovok.video_calls.emails.invite({"appointmentId": "appointment-id"})
ovok.video_calls.notify_active("appointment-id")
```
