# Patient components

The patient module presents patient demographics and lists. Supply the `Patient`
resources or the supported display fields from your data layer; the components do not
search, authorize, or update patient records.

import { PatientCard, PatientList } from "@ovok/native/patient";

<PatientList
  data={patients}
  onItemPress={(patient) => openPatient(patient.id)}
/>
```

Use the compound patient fields when a screen needs a custom card layout. Keep
patient lookup and access checks in the application, and avoid putting patient data
in logs or analytics payloads. Add loading, no-results, and permission states around
the list in the owning screen.
