# METHOD_NOT_ALLOWED

Canonical page: https://docs.ovok.com/errors/method-not-allowed

**HTTP 405.** Problem type: [`https://docs.ovok.com/errors/method-not-allowed`](https://docs.ovok.com/errors/method-not-allowed).

## What this means [#what-this-means]

The route was recognized, but it does not accept the HTTP method used for this request.

## Troubleshooting [#troubleshooting]

Open the documentation for the exact route and confirm which operation and method it exposes. Check the final URL assembled by your client, including any base path or version prefix, and verify that a redirect, proxy, or wrapper has not changed the method. If you use an SDK, confirm that the method corresponds to the operation you intended.

## Retry safely [#retry-safely]

Use a method documented for that route and make sure the request body matches that operation. Repeating the same method on the same route will not resolve a 405; do not guess methods when the endpoint documentation is available.

## If the problem persists [#if-the-problem-persists]

Share the HTTP status, problem `type`, request path, response timestamp, and `traceId` with your administrator or support contact. Do not include access tokens or sensitive patient data. The [Error responses guide](/errors) explains the response fields and field-level errors.
